Battery help please

Yesterday MD was disabled all day, apart from the briefest periods. By bedtime it was top of the battery consumers, at nearly 16%. What's going on?

Yeah I think there is definitely an issue somewhere. I'll report it.
So I was investigating the situation on my device, I found something that could be the problem, in my case, I have a macro that basically is, when I open a game, every 5 minutes it closes the applications in the background, from what I understand apparently, the macro is not activated just once, which would be when I actually open the game, but rather the macro is activated repeatedly while I have the game open, this did not happen before, another point that I was able to identify is that if I put an action of waiting 5 minutes, the macro is not waiting 5 minutes, this time is being random, sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes 1 minute, sometimes 3 minutes, I don't know if this is happening to me, but I'm using the latest beta apk .

Thank you for sharing that. The thing is MD was TURNED OFF. It shouldn't be doing anything or using any battery juice.
But you did turn on MD...do you know for how long?
Also was this before or after the charge that occurred ~8 hours (time from the graph)?

Have you tried disabling MD and powering off the phone, then back on. Check to make sure MD is still disabled. Use the phone and after a few hours check MD usage. What is the battery % used by MD and what % battery has the phone used since reset?

This is a good way to check that the issue persists, even after a reset and can provide useful information to the Developer.

Thanks. Tomorrow I'll keep MD switched off all day, having recharged (and rebooted) it overnight, and check towards the end of the day.

I have been running tests for some time on various devices trying to recreate any issue with excessive power drainage. Unfortunately I have yet to recreate this in any way and can't find any unusual battery drain whether MacroDroid is off or on.

There should be no noticeable battery drain at all if MacroDroid is disabled so clearly something has gone badly wrong in this case. If you could use report a bug in the torubleshooting section that will at least give me the OS version and device info as a starting point.

I get high battery consumption when I have MD open developing and testing macros, which is to be expected. The screen is on and I'm not using any other app.

Is that what you were doing to record the 77%?

When I'm not developing and testing macros, the MD battery consumption is around 1% and in the battery consumption by app list it's usually around 15th.

The OP is seeing high battery consumption when MD is disabled, which shouldn't occur.

I was... sleeping!

I could be completely wrong, but I made an association that shortly after an update that included Stopclub in the sidebar, these high consumption problems started.

You have official payed version of MacroDroid?
Yes, I bought it a few years ago and I always updated it through Google Play, today by visiting the group, I have been updating it with the beta versions, as you can see in the print from the latest version I have installed.

I'm Brazilian, I use Google Translate, but see that in the screenshot above a new option appears.
That's strange

As you can see from the attached screenshot that item is Troubleshooting.

I don't believe it's ever changed.

It looks like a translation error.

It looks like ads, but in the Pro version it should not be there.
Probable bug, to be reported to the developer

I trust MD wasn't sleeping!

What was it doing, presumably with the screen off?
I'm not sure. It shouldn't be doing much.

The thing is that because I was asleep all other apps weren't actually doing anything but MacroDroid did do little bits of processing and held wakelocks (I have a 1 minute interval trigger).
