The Quick Settings Tile trigger fires when a MacroDroid quick settings tile is pressed in the notification panel. Quick settings tiles appear when you swipe down from the top of the screen, providing easy access to commonly used functions. MacroDroid allows you to configure up to 16 custom quick settings tiles.

Requirements

  • This trigger requires Android 7.0 (Nougat) or higher

Options

Tile Selection

Select which MacroDroid tile (1-16) will trigger this macro. The tile label displayed is taken from the quick settings configuration if set, otherwise shows "MacroDroid Tile #".

Trigger Event

  • Toggle On - Fires when the tile is pressed to turn ON (for toggle-style tiles)
  • Toggle Off - Fires when the tile is pressed to turn OFF (for toggle-style tiles)
  • Long Press - Fires when the tile is long-pressed

Configuration

Quick settings tiles are configured separately from the trigger: 1. Open MacroDroid Settings 2. Navigate to Quick Settings Tiles 3. Configure each tile with:

  * Label - The text displayed on the tile
  * Icon - The icon shown on the tile
  * Toggle mode - Whether the tile acts as an on/off toggle or a single action button
  * Collapse on press - Whether to close the notification panel when pressed
  * Subtitle - Optional secondary text (Android 10+)

Adding Tiles to Quick Settings

After configuring tiles in MacroDroid: 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open quick settings 2. Tap the edit/pencil icon 3. Find MacroDroid tiles in the available tiles section 4. Drag them to your quick settings panel

Notes

  • You can have multiple macros triggered by the same tile (e.g., separate macros for Toggle On and Toggle Off)
  • When exporting/importing macros, the tile configuration is preserved and will be applied on import if the tile slot is available
  • Tiles that are not enabled in MacroDroid settings will appear dimmed in the tile selection list
  • The tile icon and label can be updated dynamically using the "Configure Quick Settings Tile" action
  • Long press functionality allows for additional actions without using another tile slot
