UI Interactions not working when device locked

Hi everyone. Sorry for the noobish question but I have a macro that I can only make work with a UI click in app. Works flawlessly when the device is unlocked/screen on, but doesn't when it's locked.

I get a feeling this is Samsung's squirrelly shenanigans (S20 Ultra on A12/One UI 3.1) but maybe 8m missing something.

Log says the click was sent, and when I unlock the device the app is open and the rest of the macro executed as expected, as per log as well.

I'm really working hard on this one and it's not working out lol

Lol I am an idiot! In my defence -not really- that popup doesn't come up every time ;)

Now I will nitpick a bit here but is "screen on" the same as "unlocked" in this case? I'm assuming so, because I did think this could be the case and tried it screen on but on lock screen with the same result, but I'd like to make sure.

I had another issue with dialogue default values not triggering with the screen off and I want to make sure I nail the terminology before I investigate further.

I can't comment on the first statement 😂
The popup comes when you hold the actionbutton down 😉

Short answer, yes
But try to add an screen off action and look at the options

How would you read a dialog with screen off??? 🤔

Hehe you wouldn't but that's the idea. I tried to set a dialogue option to pop up, but wanted it to default to a value if I don't make a choice (ie if screen is off) but the countdown doesn't start. It's a different problem but I'm trying different things to make this #$&@&$! macro work 😁

I'm not shure but the timeout "should" work with screen off 🤔
