I want an action that scans whether the SSID is within range or not.
Returns True if within range, False if out of range.

This thread, called "Feature Request", is made to allow any MD user to ask for a new feature to be added to MD.

To be taken into account, these demands must fulfill several criteria such as:
- check whether there is not an Action or a Trigger already existing or very similar
- the request is of general interest and not to make one specific macro for the specific usage of a particular user
- it must be technically feasible
- last but not least, it must not begin with; I want, I need... which is very rude!

Moreover your already can scan any Wifi SSID by yourself with existing WiFi triggers.

Thanks for the info.
This action is more useful than the existing trigger.
The existing trigger runs in the background all the time, which may affect battery life.
Also, the scan is at a fixed interval, so you can't do it at your own desired timing.

It seems that you have no idea how triggers work so you first should have a look to MD Wiki to familiarize a bit with MacroDroid.

It's the reason why scan is not necessary in your case (to prevent battery draining)
