New to MacroDroid. Is there a way to use it as a vocal assistant for music ?

Hi,

I'm new to Macrodroid. I heard of it from a post I made on Reddit :

https://www.reddit.com/r/fossdroid/comments/ozrd7b
My phone (Redmi Note 8T) is fully degoogled and using crDroid as my OS. I love it so far. But the only thing I am missing is a vocal assistant. I would need it for only one thing : music. I bike a lot, and being able to request a track or album without having to get my phone out of my pocket would be amazing. I was able to do that with Cortana on my windows phone back in the days. This is the only thing I miss. But there is no way I would install Google assistant or anything like that with no control over my voice data.

I didn't find any solution so far. Mycroft isn't usable yet, too early in development. And all the others are discontinued, like Saiy which is no longer usable.

Someone mentioned Macrodroid and its ability to recognize hotwords. Would there be a way to make a macro that would recognize words and search through my music library?

Thanks in advance for any answer, have a great day.

there is a tasker hotword plugin that works with macrodroid, but i believe they shut it down last year and you can no longer add new hotwords.
maybe someone else can confirm if it is still working or not, or knows an alternative, or you could just download it and see if you can get it working..

you probably have your reasons not to do this, but i think the easiest solution here would be to just mount your phone on your bike and control it with your hands.. :ROFLMAO:

Mounting my phone on my bike is an excellent way to get distracted and eat some asphalt (I am very easily distracted). Also giving order to my phone via voice had this little futuristic side back in 2014. I admit it's much more of a gadget today but I would still love it.

I heard about the hotword plug-in, it really looks like it's still usable. I'll try that. The problem is that I don't know how I could make it generate hotword for all my music library. I highly doubt Macrodroid is able to do what I would like, as it looks far from its purpose. But I'm still asking, maybe there is a chance. Or maybe someone knows a project that I don't know about (like I heard about Saiy, sadly discontinued). It's a subject where researches are very difficult because everyone is calling that differently. What I need isn't even a real voice assistant, more like a music assistant.

sorry i gues did not read your post properly, i was thinking basic commands like "play/pause/next song/previous song"

i think requesting a track/album will be way to much work because this plugin can't just regocnize whatever you say and do it, it can only listen for fixed hotwords, so you'd have to create a seperate hotword (and the corresponding trigger/actions in macrodroid) for every track/album that you want to be able to request..

Yes, that's why I said macrodroid is probably not what I need. I searched if tools or open source assistant (at least not made by Google) exists for this but I didn't find anything. Probably because I'm one of the few people still listening to offline audio files...
