multicam with smartphones - just synchronize rec button

Hello everyone,

I'm interested in macrodroid but I don't know if what I want to do is possible, maybe you can help me:

I am a musician and I am looking for a solution to record concerts in multicam with smartphones. The idea is to do something simple. I want to avoid using a computer on stage. I've been looking for a solution for years but I'm stuck in a loop. I would ultimately like to be able to just synchronize the rec / video buttons of several smartphones, knowing that I use a wifi router on stage to control my mixer and my lights. I would like a solution that allows me to do rec stop and synchronize all smartphones. After the service, I collect the videos on each smartphone and I do my editing.
That's the idea. I came across a “wifi remote capture” app but I never managed to get it to work.
Do you think that with macrodroid, I can achieve this kind of thing?

Sorry but I don't think MacroDroid will be able to do what you require as to sync exactly would probably require specialist software developed for this purpose.

I was wondering if using time trigger on all devices to click recording at the same time would be good enough
I need to wait for my other phone to charge a little bit and run some tests (obviously it will never be perfectly synced)

I guess it all depends on what you class as 'good enough'. I would assume this kind of application would require very precise sycning.

There are quite a few factors at play but something that would be very accurate (~1 second max., not counting device speed to start record) would be to send a webhook message to every device containing a timestamp (see system time), then each device calculates the numbers of milliseconds before that timestamp (minus around 20~50 ms to account for MacroDroid delays) and waits that amount before pressing the record button.
Depending on the device it could be a bit off though (my phone sometimes takes up to 5 seconds to start recording).
