Help, trigger partially works, turns screen off but not launch airplane mode

I'm a complete noob and I'm seriously sorry if I'm offending anyone with my ignorance. I was able to successfully setup a trigger whereby flipping the phone would turn the screen off and put the phone is airplane mode (Samsung A13 5G, Android 13). This trigger worked until it just started to work halfway, ie it turns the screen off but doesn't launch airplane mode. I went through all the settings in dontkillmyapp and ensure all battery settings are fine (they are), I installed MD Helper but to no avail. I rebooted and still can't seem to get it to do more than just turn the screen off, it's the airplane mode that's key to this. If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it. And once again I apologize for my lack of knowledge in this area.

With the airplane action which of the 3 options did you chose?
The default is to use MD as the digital assist app. Root is an option but I assume your phone is not rooted. The third option is tp use ADB hack.
I suspect the reason airplane action is not working is because either MD is not set as the digital assist app or you haven't done the ADB hack.

Thanks for the reply.I actually DO have MD as default digital assist app, I found a quick fix is to turn digital assist off and then readd MD (even though MD appears as the default) and that gets airplane mode going again but I have to do that every time I restart the phone. I dont currently have access to a computer for the ADB hack and I'm not rooted. Thanks again for the reply.

I used to use MD as the digital assist app before the ADB hack was added. I have done the ADB hack, which persists after a phone restart & prefer this method.
It's worth doing all of the ADB hacks.

That requires connecting to a computer to set up?

If you have bixby, which is an assistant just like Siri, it probably has a simpler native routines application than macrodroid, but it has deep control of most basic functions of the phone, airplane mode included.
What i did to bypass the need of root or ADB hack, was to set a routine there to turn airplane mode on when a notification from macrodroid appears, containing "Airplane mode ON"

So, inside macrodroid, instead of using the airplane mode action, i use the notification with this text, to trigger that Bixby routine.

Hope it helps :)

Is there any chance you can give me a walkthrough for this I'd really appreciate it...
