Floating Buttons Broken/Disabled (for me)

I'm sorry if this was posted elsewhere, I searched and didn't find it anywhere, but I have recently discovered floating Buttons(FBs) and how usefuls they can be.

I don't know if it's because I fundamentally don't know how FBs work, but now I can't seem to get any FBs to appear. I created an macro originally to have a floating button to appear when macro enabled and disappear when the same macro is finished. I figured out that you can hold them to move them around everything seemed great.

Now for some reason I can't get any FBs to appear. I've tried disabling all macros to see if I had some interference or some setting for FBs and I can't figure out why they just stopped working I even created the standard blank test macro with an FB and it wouldn't appear.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have a look in your app settings for Draw over other apps or Overlay permissions and enable MacroDroid

I tried all your suggestions no luck, then on a whim restarted my phone now they work. Not sure if I somehow disabled floating Buttons or it was a glitch. Thanks for the advice though.

I've just seen this thread for the first time and I wanted to say that I've been experiencing this too lately. Nothing major, restarting MacroDroid fixes the issue, but I'm still wondering why it happens.
