Configure Quick Tile

I wanted to do something better than ON/OFF and after playing around, I found that if you change the name of the tile, it won't update until you close and re-open the quick panel. I found that turning the quick tile off and on from within MacroDroid refreshes the status and fixes this issue. I can't seem to be able to apply this method on icons.

Have you been playing around with this?

Same issue for me. If I toggle a tile and it changes the text, nothing happens. If I toggle it again and change the text again, the first text change happens now.

I overcame that problem by quickly turning the tile off and on/on and off after the label change. Now looking to do the same with the icon.
Making tiles more capable than ON/OFF is something MacroDroid should look into, as a built-in feature.

There is not much else you can do with them. The initial point of a quick tile is to toggle a specific setting quickly so I'm afraid they are not really optimized for other use cases.

They could be much more useful. For instance, you can make them cycle between a few settings.

You can use a variable for that by increasing an integer by 1 then resetting it when it's after the last setting to create a cycle. For example use a 'button' type quick tile. By clicking on it, you can change the setting to toggle and by long pressing it you can toggle that chosen setting.

Yeah, that's exactly what I have done and it was super glitchy because the tiles wouldn't update or would update with the previous state. It took me a couple hours to get it right, which is why I strongly believe this should be a native feature of MacroDroid as it is much more user friendly when selecting options than this ancient mess.
