"Cell signal strength" variable option?

There is a "wifi signal strength" option when you select the pop-up dialog action. Is there a way to add a "cell signal strength" option as well?

Thanks!

If you select the WiFi strength option and connect to mobile data, it will show the signal strength in dBm. (Such as - 120)

Yes, I see. So while your phone might display 4G and all bars, this does not mean that the actual Internet package transfer speed is high or low.

What I said in the post was that MD variable 'wifi_strength' gives strength of the signal between the WiFi device (mobile, tablet, computer...) and the box which is wire connected to the net. But I doesn't measure the quantity of data per second (the stream) from the net. Of course if you are too far from your box and the signal is weak, you won't have a good final stream because of the weakness of this part of the network.
According to the cellular signal, the problem is partly the same. A strong signal doesn't mean a good stream if your operator's network is overloaded for instance. But, of course as above, a weak signal will prevent you from having a good stream (because of retries due to data loss).

What do you mean by "Box and mobile"? Is that the WiFi router or cell tower and the phone? If so, it will measure the actual signal strength between the cell tower or Wi-Fi router and the mobile device.

In some countries, 'Box' stands for 'WiFi router', i.e. the 'box' connected to your phone line (wall socket) and distributing internet data to your WiFi connected devices.

OP

just wants to verify if this variable has dual use, ie.

when connected to wifi = wifi signal strength
when connected to mobile internet = cell signal strength
