Battery saver mode (on/off/toggle) doesn't work

I have Macrodroid on my phone and it works flawlessly. I now wanted to install it on my tablet (Huawei MediaPad M5 lite 10. I went through the steps of installing ADB and all and the ADB actions in Marcrodroid seem to work (e.g. change keyboard). But I actually wanted Macrodroid to manage my battery saving mode. And there lies the problem: it doesn't do that. If I make a macro containing the battery saver mode toggle action, it doesn't do anything. Battery saver mode stays on (or off), despite triggering the macro, whereas a macro containing the action to change the keyboard (also limited to ADB modified devices) does work. So I think the ADB commands were executed succesfully, but apparently do not extend to the battery saver mode action.

Trigger
Empty

Action
Toggle battery saver mode

Is this behaviour exclusive to Huawei because of the way they designed their battery saver mode?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks. I've tried all your suggestions but to no avail. Apparently Huawei has made the battery saver option untinkerable 😠

Unfortunately this action works only on the standard Android battery saver functionality. Some vendors like to create total custom implementations of battery saving sometimes with multiple levels and other customisations. Ideally they should still respond to the standard Android battery saver setting changing, but I think typically it's only controlled via the OS, quick settings etc which they are totally in control of so they decide to screw the standard functionality and not support it.
