App Actions

Having macros available in Macrodroid app actions would be great as it would allow us to directly call macros from other apps.
This would also allow you to easily create a home screen shortcut for one of your macros.
For Macrodroid I have 2 app actions that are visible in other apps (and if I press and hold the Macrodroid icon):
All macros
Add macro

I believe that adding macros to the actions lost would further expand the flexibility that Macrodroid has.

Add a widget on your home screen, there widget is MacroDroid shortcut. Then select your macro.
From other apps your can also use the MacroDroid shortcut and select a macro.

Thank you for your message @Endercraft !
Some apps don't have shortcuts as options, but only support direct opening of apps and app actions.
That's why I'm asking for app actions :)

I've noticed that more and more apps have app actions.
I don't know if it's complicated to add them, but they would be a great addition to macrodroid integration with other apps.

Try explaining what exactly you want to achieve.
There is a chance its already possible to do what you want in some other way and someone more experienced will guide you towards the answer

I'd like to trigger Macrodroid macros from other apps.
Currently I'm either using the shortcut method or the notification method, and it would be great if I could use app actions as well.

I see there is a new (since last time I looked anyway) "open app feature" intent which looks like something I could probably use. Unfortunately it's not possible to test anything without going through an approval process with Google (e.g. deploying a release). But luckily there is an Android assistant test plugin for Android Studio...... But wait the test tool is not compatible with the latest versions of Android Studio.

At this point I give up, I may circle back in the future but it shows a lot how much Google care about this.

In another topic on forum we found out that some apps (samsung's one hand operations+ in this case) could see shortcuts to macros but only when created by long clicking chosen macro and clicking create home screen shortcut.
It wouldn't see shortcuts created in any other way.
I wonder if thats the case with some other apps.
After creating some shortcuts to macros this way they started to appear in other places as well (see attached screenshot)

I've just tried it and I can confirm that this macro shortcut will show up in Samsung's task switcher which is part of the OneHandOperations+
I've checked Modes and Routines app and this shortcut is not visible.

Yeah, you're right. Its funny cause both menus look the same.
At this point I think its the way modes and routines app is made since one hand operations+ can see shortcuts. Other one could probably see them as well.
As long as macrodroid can clear notifications I don't mind using this method to make all apps work together
