Wi-Fi scanning

I always have this OFF to save battery. Occasionally something switches it on again. Is there a method anyone knows to test if it's on or off?

wifi_scan_always_enabled = 0. You should be able to set it with the system setting action. You can do the same with Bluetooth scanning with

ble_scan_always_enabled = 0

I can successfully detect the change but not set it. I'm using the helper. The action seems to do nothing. I'm using the global option as that is what works for detecting it. Android 14/Pixel 8 Pro.

Not spotting any errors in the log file...

Also tried using ADB Tools to reinstall the Helper and ensure all ADB hacks/permissions were set. I can see the variable change when I toggle the setting manually, but the action still does nothing to change it. Odd.

You need to use the "Select Option" drop down list to populate the "Setting Key" field (unless you have a variable which contains the name of this setting key).
Currently, you are telling the action to look for (& set) the setting name in the variable that "[setting_global=wifi_scan_always_enabled]" resolves to.
It is a little bit confusing!
