Variables from another app

Hello all. I was browsing the Templates earlier and came across a macro that used variables where the values came from Spotify. I didn't know this was possible. I tried to do the same thing in my own macro, but couldn't find anything. How can I get them to show up in MD. Can this be done with any app that's installed? Thanks for your help.

They probably used the read screen contents action to get the text and store it in variables.

Are you talking about the Spotify app or are you referring to the sound issue? If it's related to spotify, I think you can update a new Spotify.

Spotify is working correctly for me, I don't know about any sound issues. What I want to know is how to get variables/information from other apps to use in macros, like this one from Mr_GL1TCHI. How is he getting track and artist information from Spotify to Macrodroid?
