I have released a new beta that introduces a new Connectivity Helper app which can be installed on Android 14+ devices.

I'm working on better documentation, and the first draft is up here: https://macrodroidforum.com/wiki/index.php/Helper_App

The main forum information for helper apps will remain as it until this release goes into a full production release. Since this stuff is complex and difficult to test all aspects I do expect some teething issues, so please let me know if you find any problems related to the new helper files.

好, @huashimacro,

I see, so you are saying that there is no problem with the older versions and the crashes are occurring in new beta version.

So we need 'more and more' crash reports. For developers' analysis.

For example, if there is a video recording function of the operation in HyperOS, it might be possible to utilise it to share the operating status with the developers.

Therein lies the problem of the Great Firewall(金盾). I don't think it's in the interest of the Chinese people, but I wonder if it could be uploaded as a video to Youku(优酷) Service for example...

Best Regards,
Liner Seven,
Hello, a few days ago I was down with a cold, fever, and headache, so I couldn't work on it. As described in the video, importing the same macro file will cause the app to crash in version 5.47.7, but it won't crash in the older version 5.46.10. In China, the domain for Youku is https://www.youku.com/, while internationally it's https://youku.tv/. Accounts for these two Youku domains are not interchangeable. The Youku you mentioned should be the international domain. I tried to open and register an account through a VPN, but I couldn't view the registration page to sign up due to poor network conditions. Therefore, I can only upload the video to OneDrive and share it.

好, @huashimacro ,

Thank you. I'm glad my cold is gone!!
I was able to see your OneDrive video files.

If possible, could you itemise what the operations in the video are doing?

You have released v5.47.8, will upgrading not change the situation?

If you can try, @Jacob L 's
Post in thread 'v5.47 - Feedback'

You should also try.

You should also try.
In the video, the two versions, one can import this macro and open it, whereas the other cannot import it and consistently crashes. Version 4.47.8 still crashes when importing this macro.

好, @huashimacro,

Confirmed,

MacroDroid 5.47.7 does indeed crash the whole MacroDroid process when importing macro file.

Thanks for checking this, again and again.

Given the situation, I think the crash logs need to be analysed to improve the situation.

As far as I can confirm, the same case does not occur on other devices...

If the crash log is not available,
you may have to consider trying to reinstall MacroDroid once.

I would like to ask you,

Is the macro export function of MacroDroid 5.47.7 also crashing in this situation?

If the macro export works, I see no other recourse than to reinstall MacroDroid and check the status while granting permissions step by step.

regards,
Liner Seven,

If I can import it, I can export it successfully, and reinstalling and granting all permissions doesn't solve the crash issue! I can't get the crash log for now. Well, I guess I'll just stick with the old version 5.46.10 for now. Maybe someday, an update will magically fix it! Keep it up! 😊

Hi, @jebko,

I agree with you, magictext is not recognised correctly in MD v5.47.x.

Some macros worked fine in v5.46.x, but in v5.47.x they are abnormal and do not return numbers or characters.:-(
Hello, do you remember the issue I reported where the application would crash immediately upon importing this macro? The problem was resolved in version 5.47.9, where the macro could be imported without causing a crash. However, the issue reappeared in version 5.47.10. Versions where the macro can be imported without crashing are 5.46.10, 5.47.5, and 5.47.9. Other versions, such as 5.47.7, 5.47.8, and 5.47.10, all crash when importing this macro. Strangely, the issue was fixed in version 5.47.9. What issues were fixed in version 5.47.9 that led to the resolution of this macro import crash?
