Screen on/off permission request every reboot

Hi everyone,

I'm getting the same "error" notification every time I reboot my phone (Galaxy S9), where Macrodroid says it requires a permission for Screen On/Off - Accessibility required.

Thing is MD has all those permissions already, and nothing seems to not work. I only have O e macro using screen controls and it works just fine. When tapping the notification, it takes me to the accessibility settings page but doesn't highlight anything in particular so I'm really lost here.

It works, but the constant warning is starting to get on my nerves a bit...

Any idea?
Thanks!

Hmmmm, I'm not sure why you would see that warning if the accessibility service is enabled. I have three different mechanisms in play to try and determine if accessibility is enabled so it must be failing all three of these.

Can you please use report a bug in troubleshooting and select the relevant macro so I can see if there is anything useful in the diagnostics sent in the bug report.

It shows up at every reboot of the phone (I don't have any macro triggering at system boot).

Regarding my macrodroid setting, I use the "screen off" action in a macro where the triggers are the time of the day + the charge connected. And it works just fine.

In accessibility I gave Macrodroid all the required permission already.

I have the same problem (see also thread

my screen on/off triggers work fine
it's the application launched trigger that doesn't work
furthermore this accessibility permission notification on boot appeared first time only today !! (which is quite strange, I reboot every 1-2 days)

this bug must have been introduced in the last update, I never had issue before the last update

btw. I have many apps with accessibility permissions
I don't know if this matters and one app may inhibit the proper operation of the other,
I guess @MacroDroidDev knows better on this

@joshuawilsoncom In the first instance please ensure you configure your device as described at dontkillmyapp.com as its usually over zealous manufacturers revoking permissions to squeeze every last drop of battery life out of the system.

@joshuawilsoncom Although it's natural to blame the app for this, it absolutely is not the fault of the app and it is impossible for any app to enable/disable accessibility services. This is wholly down to the manufacturer and I'm guessing it's most likely a Xiaomi or Huawei as they are the worst offenders in this respect. I suggest you google for this problem for your specific device type as this may yield further settings that may be tweakable to hopefully prevent this.

I get the "Screen on/off permission required" and "Volume up/down permission required" notification after reboot too.
I try to make below setting to fix it,
1. Enter "設定" -> "協助工具" -> "進階設定" -> "音量增加與降低鍵" -> "所選服務" setting.
2. Change the "Voice Assistant"(default) to "MacroDroid Volume Button Monitor".
3. Select the "允許" in the dialog that pops up.
4. Reboot.

I have the same problem on both my Galaxy S10+ phones plus Macrodroid no longer controls volume settings (it used to work)- Any idea how to fix this?

I started this thread ages ago and never really replied... Sorry. I switched to a Pixel 6 and never had this happen so I blamed the S9.

I also have an S20 and I can confirm it does the same exact thing: I'll turn on accessibility svc, and it will work for a little bit, but then out of nowhere I get the error message in MD (and it shows in the logs as well). Only issue? Accessibility services are still turned on!?!

I'm guessing this is a Samsung/OneUI issue... Wouldn't be the only shenanigans they pull...
