Sad news with Android 14 and MacroDroid

Would running helper in an Android 5 (SDK 21) multi-emulator be helpful?

Just installed Macrodroid via Play Store & the helper via ADB on GrapheneOS / Android 14 on my Pixel 5.
I can enable / disable Airplane Mode via a macro but cannot enable / disable WiFi.
System Log shows:
[Helper] Failed to set wifi state

Is there a file attached someplace? I'm old and (apparently) becoming increasingly stupid so really need a step-by-step hand holding to get Macrodroid working with Android 14. I've downloaded ADB but can't figure it out on my own.

While waiting for an official guide, users are starting to come here to get help about installing or updating the helper app on Android 14+. Because Google is so keen to "protect our privacy", applications targeting SDK 22 or lower can no longer be installed or updated on devices - at least not...

It can be installed via the adb tool, so most users here will be fine and have the ability to install/update it etc.

Of course most other users will be very confused, annoyed and angry so it will just drive away new users who don't understand or think it looks super dodgy what they are being asked to do. Of course Google has made this change to "improve security", so if an app is trying to do this then it must be up to no good!

I hope there will be major backlash and they will at least put some option deep in the settings to allow installation of older APKs.

I have a question about md helper, for example I use termux and shizuku on my cell phone to send adb hack commands from macrodroid and it works, but I have the helper installed, I wanted to know if it is Is it possible for me to continue using these apps for adb without needing to install the helper, or is it always "mandatory" to have it installed to facilitate the adb hack?

Installing the helper app is a part of MacroDroid. Some functions should be done by helper and not by adb.
