Notification bar gone

Hi
Since 5.13, Macrodroid notification bar is no more. I tried everything, but no luck.
The bar shows at home screen only if and when restarting android, but disappears afterward.
Not this problem on 5.12.

I even noticed this problem before MD 5.12 (on Android v8 or v9). As you say, it appears at boot time and gradually disappears, randomly pushed downward by app notifications, as well as MD/macro notifications. As I made no system updates/upgrades (both Samsung Galaxy), it is probably due to an old MD update but I can't remember which one: I would say at least from MD v4 to v5, or v3 to v4...
I already mentioned this issue a long time ago to MacroDroidDev but he couldn't reproduce it.
So if other users have the same issue, please let it know to help MacroDroidDev to solve this problem.

Sorry for the delay, I'm going to try and see what changed between those two versions that could of caused this.

I don't think there is any change between these two versions 5.12 -> 5.13 that can cause this (I can't see anything relevant).

Is it possible to confirm the exact version the notification does not disappear and from what version it starts to exhibit this issue?

No, Jamie, it happened earlier. Probably when changing from versions 4 to 5 (or even 3 to 4). Let me check if I can find the date of my first request in the 'old forum' or in our exchange of mails. I come back asap.

I've just noticed something weird. I used to 'hide' persistent MD icon in status bar (not to show MD is installed and running) using a blank icon (first item in 'Material Design' standard set).

I restored the original 'M' icon a couple of days ago and the notification bar has never gone again yet!

Do pr3jker, andydroid, framexx or any other member whose notification bar disappears uses the same 'blank' icon or is there no relation at all?

Interesting.

I actively *want* an icon to display along with the notification bar, but I also use icons different from the standard 'M' icon: I use different icons depending on which of my 'volume profiles' is currently in use (I use MacroDroid to automatically change between different volume settings depending on various triggers).

For me as well, the notification bar appears after a phone restart, but disappears very soon after, possibly when a macro updates it? I might test your suggestion about the icon later, but for now, the football is about to start!...

I just found something amazing. As every morning I booted my phone and I noticed that the 'M' MD persistent icon didn't show. Same thing for the notification bar! At reboot time everything was ok.

Thus it seems that there is an obvious relation between MD icon and notification bar display. This relation may not concern the content of the icon (blank or not).

Good idea to use this icon to dynamically show a particular context!

May be before 5.12, of course, but anyway, the issue started recently, never had it until, I'd say, v5.8, from January / February 2021.

Yeah, you're probably right. As I had some devices problems on that times, maybe I wasn't clearly aware of the date it appeared...

The button bar gone issue appeared (for me) in January 2021, probably in MD v. 5.8.
I'm running Oreo 8.0, Samsung A6+

what about the Macrodroid settings action? I tried to run this action with the 'configure button bar - show button bar' option, but nothing happens when running the macro

Yep, same thing here. We have a winner. the difference is I just used another icon, not the default one. But now the button bar is there! 😀

Unfortunately, for me, whatever the icon (standard M, blank one or various design dynamically changed according to MD mode) it still sometimes disappears

there may be something that causes this difference. My button bar is available since I changed my icon, survives restarts and so. Dev should check this issue
