NEED HELP trying to automate a HighEnd Audio Recorder... Please?

Hello everyone,

I am in desperate NEED of help with the current project that I am attempting to create...
I would like my phone (a Nokia X100) to initiate recording the audio in it's immediate environment whenever (let's say) I press a "widget-button".
And the High-End aspect of this is; I would like for it to record for 60 minutes (doesn't actually need to be for 60 minutes), then give me the option to save the current hour recording (Incase something worth saving took place in said hour) or to begin overwriting the last 60 minute recording with the (NEW) Upcoming 60 minute recording if I deem the last recorded hour to hold no significance and not worth saving.

I'm desperately trying to create this as a security precaution so that no matter what, if something of importance happens within ear shot around me, I will ALWAYS have it recorded and will ALWAYS have the option to keep or to discard.

ABSOLUTELY Any help on this would be a GOD-SEND, Please, if anyone out there has a idea on this AT ALL, Please let me know... Thank you so much again...

Maybe I don't understand what you mean. But I think every phone comes with a build in audio recorder which will just start recording on a press of button.
Except there is something else you want Macrodroid to do because it has a recording action which you can configure to suit your need.

I made a macro for you. You will need to reconfigure the start recording and remove file actions and give MacroDroid permission to folders again. I used folder named "Recordings" in internal storage. You may reconfigure the actions to use different folder, but all actions need to use the same folder or the macro won't work. I also used home screen shortcut trigger instead of widget button to start and stop recording when it's currently running. Currently it will ask you if to remove the recorded file after 1 hour, but you can just change the timer trogger to 15 min or whatever you want, but remember that the recorded audio files will be then split to 15 min long files.

WOW!!!!! Thank you SO MUCH FrameXX!!!!! I am AMAZED at how quickly you responded, and you didn't just respond, you actually SOLVED the entire problem!!!!
Thank you so much again FrameXX. I wish I could return the favor. Honestly, I find MacroDroid ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I love the actual concept of it and everything to do with it I'm trying my DAMNEST to get "KNOWLEDGEABLE" when it comes to creating macros, automating different tasks, etc... But it's like I'm just hitting a wall when I try to create my own macros. Almost like I have a form of "writers-block". I actually know if I can just figure out the "proverbial speed-bump" that I keep getting hung up on, if I could just grasp that one aspect, it would be smooth sailing, or at least it would be 'smooth(er)-learning' from that point on lol. But aside from a class like setting where I can be shown "hands-on" and could actually ask an instructor/expert for tips and/or help when I hit that "speed-bump", aside from having access to something similar to that, it's slow going for me. Instead of "smooth-sailing" I'm stuck with "slow-learning" haha...
Anyways, I appreciate it a ton!!!

Hey there again FrameXX, I wanted to thank you again for the SIMPLY AMAZING Macro you was able to create (per my parameters) the other day!!

Really quick, if you don't mind blessing me once more with your ULTIMATE WISDOM on this subject lol, naw but with all joking aside, I really do hold your knowledge on all of this in EXTREMELY high respects. I find all of this absolutely fascinating and the fact that you are highly knowledgeable on the subject means a lot.
Anyways first question is I end up getting this error pop-up message and (yes I am sure that you already touched on this) but if you don't mind, maybe you could give me the "MacroDroid for-dummies" version lol.

The error pop up is as follows:

Please reconfigure the record microphone action to set a new file path

And probably a complete (Newby) question here again, but after all how do I learn if not willing to ask the stupid questions and get them out of the way.
Anyways, how would one go about getting the previous file that was recorded differentiated from the new file? Say, In case I choose to save the new file that was just recorded and have it to delete/overwrite the old previous file.

Ok that's about it I think, but like I said, if you don't mind giving me some much desired insight on these few questions I have, it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks again FrameXX!!

Hey there, you are completely correct, my cell phone also has the built-in audio Recorder. What I was attempting to do though was find a way to automate the audio Recorder to continuously record 60 minute recordings and then give me the option to either choose to save the (just recorded) 60 minute recording or if I don't choose to save it, it would delete/overwrite the (just recorded) 60 minute recording and replace it with the upcoming new 60 minute recording.

This way my phone would ALWAYS (24/7) be actively recording all of my surroundings and at any time I would have the option to mark a (just recorded) 60 minutes as IMPORTANT and save it. And ultimately my phone would just go on constantly recording hour long audio and (without needing me to do anything) would continuously keep overwriting the previous (unimportant) hour audio segment with the upcoming NEW hour audio segment (so as to not eat up every bit of my phone's storage space with MANY NUMEROUS unimportant hour long audio recordings), and at absolutely ANY time I can choose to save one of the hour long audio segments instead of allowing it to be replaced by a new hour segment (for example if something OF ACTUAL IMPORTANCE was to happen, like I was approached and threatened or robbed or anything really, if anything important was to happen, I would know my phone THANKFULLY was actually recording the audio of all of my surroundings and AMAZINGLY I can now opt to save that said recording and keep it as proof or whatever..)

All in all, I eagerly wanted help with thus Macro as a sort of security precaution, so I am NEVER AGAIN left wishing that I would have actually recorded something after the fact, never again do I want to feel like I could have done more, and just didn't think fast enough.

As I mentioned in my previous comment and as the notification states you need to reconfigure all actions that start recording or remove files to use the same folder. They should be all marked in pink in macro editor. If ypu are not able to do this I can't help you.

how would one go about getting the previous file that was recorded differentiated from the new file? Say, In case I choose to save the new file that was just recorded and have it to delete/overwrite the old previous file.

Every file is named after year-month-day-hour-minute-second its recording was started. Now I realize the macro I made for didn't replace the previous recordings, but instead only asked you to remove the one you create. I remade the macro. You can download it from attachement. Note you will need to recpnfigure the actions to start recording and remove files to same folder!
