MacroDroid Pro for microG users?

I've recently gone down the microG path, i.e I have de-Googled my phone and got rid of Google Play Services, Play Store, etc. I can still download apps using Aurora store and f-Droid and I can still use certain Google apps like Gmail with microG-core, but the point is that I no longer have any actual Google framework or services running on my phone.

Due to this reason, MacroDroid can't contact the Play Store to verify my Pro license. Is there an alternative licensing method? For example, Titanium Backup supports an alternative licensing method without Play Store. You basically just place a unique license.txt file in a specific folder and the app will recognize it.

I know there are "alternative" ways to get MacroDroid Pro working, but I don't want to go down that route unless I have no other options. I purchased the Pro version legitimately through Play Store and I just need a way for that license to be verified, without Play Store.....

As for the reason why I have de-Googled my phone, this is just experimental at the moment. It's quite popular to do this these days and a lot of custom ROMs are supporting signature spoofing with microG. Some people care about open source and privacy and by getting rid of Google framework related services, you free up a lot of RAM and this is good for budget phones that don't have a lot of RAM to begin with. It's also good for battery life, because there will be no wakelocks coming from Google Play Services, which is one of the main culprits for eating up battery life.

Hi,

I can provide a serial to apply the MacroDroid upgrade if you contact me at support@macrodroid.com

I can't put any detailed information in the application about this process as it would violate Google's terms and get booted off the Play Store.

Cheers,

Jamie

Have you tried yalp store?
Or there are other apps on f-droid that use the play store

I know about Yalp store, but that doesn't really address my issue?

As I mentioned, I can still download and install apps just fine by using Aurora store. The experience is no different to downloading and installing apps from Google Play. I even have the Xposed module "FakeGapps" installed, which provides signature spoofing. In fact, my ROM supports signature spoofing natively, so most apps that rely on Google Service Framework or Google Play Services will still work normally. For example, apps like Gmail, Google Keep, etc will still work.

The issue is that there are some apps that need to validate their license through Google Play Services or Google Play Store and they can't contact Google's server properly. Signature spoofing is is only "spoofing" after-all. Some apps need a valid response from Google Play Store, in order to actually validate that the license you have is correct, or that you are signed in with the correct account that owns that license.

It doesn't matter how you install apk files. The issue is license validation and MacroDroid cannot validate the license properly, because I have stripped out all Google framework related services from the phone. Hope that makes sense.
