- Managing macros across multiple devices could be a hassle
For several years now, not only for power users but also many people are using multiple smart devices. I think many MacroDroid users will use MacroDroid on multiple devices.
I don't know for people who enjoy using just MacroDroid itself, but I believe many people don't want to spend time for repeating and again. Especially since sometimes (retired) devices are used as car navigation systems, smart clocks, picture frames, stationary controllers, etc.
- MacroDroid helps automation, not to help MacroDroid automate
So yes, automation was needed and is needed!
- But wait, wouldn't it be harmful?
Unlike "Import Macro", it's sort of less abusable since this feature replaces every macros and settings. Which means, it's expected to be very rare for someone to configure it to import from untrusted.
● Suggested action: "Import Backup"
Select Option
- From Text: This allows to import unencrypted .mdr JSON string from local file or remote content or wherever you want, with using magic texts.
- Last Cloud Backup: This allows to hassle-free sync across devices. Encrypted backup will be automatically decrypted when it's possible by stored password for Auto Backup.
