Using MD Pro on a T-Mobile REVVL V+ 5G. I was trying to create a macro that opened a folder on my home screen using a UI Interaction statement. (This is where the TIFU starts.) I tapped something wrong (I think it was the XY coordinates selection) and now I've got a bar across the top of my phone (sometimes gray sometimes white and sometimes alternating red and white). Also, when I touch the screen I leave a red line wherever my finger goes. I just want my phone back the way it was. This problem survives a reboot. It even survives uninstalling macrodroid! The next step is performing a full reset on my phone, but I wanted to reach out to the forum first and see if anybody had any ideas. Anybody want to chime in with some tips tricks or advice?

select Gesture
click on "Toggle touch location overlay" button at the top

No, don't reset your phone!
You just enabled pointer location so it now follows and indicates where your finger is on the screen...
You just have to execute the action below:
System setting > System > [pointer_location]=0
I don't know if it changes this parameter but it solves OP's issue,???
How will it set the system parameter to 0?

Enter Macrodroid, create a new macro and use the "UI interaction" action. Macrodroid will ask you for accessibility permissions, accept the necessary permissions, then go back to the UI interaction action configuration in click > Location Y,X and touch the button "toggle touch location overlay"
This worked. The problems I described are gone. However, I may need to reset and restore my phone anyway. I had 3 icons at the bottom of my screen - Back, Close, and Recent Screens. Now they are gone. My browser keeps entering incognito mode automatically... And on it goes...
the instructions were for an existing macro with existing actions
you can "configure" an existing action but you can't "configure" a new action
