Since you weighed in, can I ask if your automatic hotspot activation requires an initial unlock? I wonder if other devices behave this way as mine does.

Of these devices, my Poco X3 GT phone (Xiaomi) running MYUI is the most frustrating.

I think this is because the SoC of the Poco X3 GT is Mediatek Dimensity instead of the more common Qualcomm Snapdragon.

Huh.

My frustration is because of MYUI compiled binaries, not ARM chip variant.

The OS is laden with deviations from common Android / Lineage practices. Plus, the level of spam and attempted upsell is alarming. You can't even change the wallpaper without aggressive marketing getting all up in your face.

I knew of this before ordering my phone, but I was surprised nonetheless.

Don't get me wrong, the hardware is fantastic.

I am only saying that you are wrong because you suddenly wrote that it is only available on root devices, etc.

To put a finer point on it, it's MIUI, not MYUI.

OK it is MIUI. Thank you. I was wrong on both points, the OS name and the root requirement.

I was in the process of checking my assertion when I quickly received two corrections.

There is nothing for us to argue about.

I was stating my opinion that MIUI devices are frustrating to me. My frustration stems from the OS, not the silicon. Again, it my frustration. I am not telling you what you should be frustrated about. Unless my frustration causes frustration in you. Sorry about that.

This is not a friendly way to greet new arrivals.

We tested the operation on a Xiaomi device and were able to turn tethering on and off with standard functions.
If it does not work, please try the disabled actions.
Before using ADB Shell [Tasker Plugin], the command adb tcpip 5555 is required.

Thank you so much for this solution. I have been looking for this for over a year. It works perfectly. I added a trigger for when my car head unit connects Bluetooth so hotspot starts automatically.
