HELP! Accidentally added a "screen off"

Hi, all. I created a macro to keep background apps closed, and added a "screen off" statement at the end.

Now, my phone is essentially bricked, because the screen turns off automatically. I can't do anything with my phone until I can get to Macrodroid to fix my error. However, I can't do that because the screen turns off...

I know. Dumb move.

Any ideas? (Not opposed to a reset.)

Is it impossible to force reboot with the key press, volume up + power 10 seconds(or the device specific physical key command)?
After rebooting, probably you can turn off all macros tapping the switch on the upper right corner of MD home screen.

UPDATE:

Wiped phone to factory settings using hardware keys. It will be a tough go restoring everything, but I'll consider it "tuition" for learning from a dumb mistake...

At least I can use it again.

That was a bit hasty. You can always force a device to power off by holding the power button for long enough and then you can reboot the device in safe mode which will prevent any background apps starting at boot.

The following is general advice, but it's possible some devices may have some other sequence/technique.

Enter safe mode with device buttons

If you’re having issues with a laggy screen, you can also reboot in safe mode using the hard buttons on your phone. It’s just as easy to do, and you’ll have to follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold the power button, then choose Power Off.
  2. Turn your phone back on with the power button, and hold the power button until you see an animated logo appear.
  3. Hold the Volume Down button once you see the animated logo appear.
  4. Continue holding Volume Down until your device boots.

Don't forget to create a macro that uses the Disable MacroDroid action to prevent similar difficulties in the future. For example, use it with the SMS Received trigger and configure it to fire when a message such as "disablemd" is received.
