Google Assistant

Hello, you can currently run macros via the Google Assistant when you say "run macro-name in macrdroid". Can you make it possible to select the setting that you can also only run the macros via "Macro-Name"? So just "OK Google Macro-Name"?

I would very much welcome such an implementation.

I would be very happy about it

Sorry that is not possible, there has to be a pattern signed off by Google to allow this and it's just not possible to support any possible macro name a user could come up with.

I second this. Google Assistant sometimes doesn't recognize when I say "run XYZ in macrodroid". Sometimes, it will do a google search for macrodroid instead. Can we at least modify the google assistant voice command to something else?

Sometimes, Google Assistant will think that I said "run XYZ and macrodroid" or "run XYZ en macrodroid". Sometimes, it doesn't even recognize the word "macrodroid". I know this because you can see the speech to text displayed while you're talking.

Can we modify it to say something like "run name_of_macro macro"? E.g. "run Spotify Automation macro". Or maybe something like "run name_of_macro automation" - e.g. "run Spotify Automation". Basically, any words that are normal standard english words that will be easily recognized by Google Assistant, should be used as a trigger. Google Assistant doesn't know what "Macrodroid" is and so often times myself (and my friends who also use Macrodroid) will have to repeat the command multiple times, which ends up being slower than without using voice...

I have the same issue and it has been not solved. Have requested MacroDroid dev to look into it and just receives a mail stating that everything is fine with the app :(

It's the Google speech to text engine that's the problem here, Macrodroid does nothing wrong.

I have the same issue.
GA does NOT identify the "macrodroid" word and split it
to "macro droid" 😒
very frustrating.

== Copied from another thread ==

Like many APIs provided by Google it's a whole heap of crap and doesn't work well in many use cases. Of course it works fine if you are one of the big apps because Google will always correctly recognize the correct form of the name. Unfortunately I have zero control or flexibility over how the name of MacroDroid gets picked up by your assistant and it can vary based on your locale, the way you say it or who knows what other factors are involved.

I don't in any way get to specify this part of the interaction so the only thing I can do is reach out to the Google assistant team and see if there is anything they can do this side. I know this sounds far fetched but I did once contact them before and they did reply usefully so on this basis there are already 1000x more useful than the Google Play support team.
