Floating text in status bar

It was possible for me on Android 6, but now it does not work with Android 12. I guess it's some restriction.

There are some things that Tasker can do and MacroDroid can't, even with the same automation application.
It is absurd to say that it is strange if MacroDroid cannot do it because it was able to do it with another application.

If you are not convinced email support and ask the developer directly.

The reason I restrict overlaying the status bar is because it then causes interaction issues. If you have small text and push it directly into this area then it can be impossible to move it around as any touches in that area will cause the notification bar to be dropped down.

Now I realize some people will say that is fine, but many others will then complain and say they have some text stuck on the screen and they can't move it.

If I can find a way to resolve this issue then I'll happily allow it but otherwise I don't intend to.

I see. But wouldn't it be possible to add this option with a warning that such a problem may occur? I need it very much.

Adding a warning will make no difference because 90% of users will just ignore the warning or forget it since the issue doesn't happen at the same time as configuring.

I understand, it's hard.
And is there any other way to put text in the status bar? All the options I checked in Macrodroid don't want to work on this device. It seems that all notifications are blocked by default because nothing is displayed.

If people continue ignoring, I think you'll have to take the MIUI of way and put 10 seconds countdowns everywhere 😂
By the way there is no warning when activating device administrator from troubleshooting section.

I think a reasonable solution is to have a selectable option (off by default) that the user can activate to allow drawing over the status bar. At this point they will see the warning. In this was most users who don't care about it will not be effected and anyone who wants to turn it on will see this a bit more clearly.

I hate the MIUI warnings! When testing on my Xiaomi device I have 10 seconds to click else the build does not install. Since my builds can take minutes in some cases and vary quite a lot, I'm not always paying attention and missing my 10 second window to allow it to install!

Will this be added soon or did I miss it somehow ?

It's not been added yet and I don't know when it will. In the grand scheme of my TODO list it doesn't seem particularly important compared to many other things right now.
