Detect Work Profile App

Similar to what I've done here, I need to disable Private DNS when Work Profile apps are being used because the secure tunnel doesn't work when the DNS is enabled.

Is there a way for MacroDroid to detect when a Work Profile app is active?

How do you define a work profile app?

If by app name, use the application launched trigger - selecting all the work profile apps.

I use this approach to disable VPN when certain apps are launched...and enabling the VPN when the apps are closed.

I don't define it... the Work Profile is an Android feature where things exist in their own bubble. I have to install apps separately in that bubble.

Have you tried the application launched trigger?

Otherwise, look at how Android alerts the user that work profile is in use? Could this be a trigger?

Sorry, I don't know a lot about work profile because I've never used one and it's not visible on the phone until set up by a third party.

Is this what you refer to?

Work Profile

I am not 100% sure, but if my understanding is correct, ... then

Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible
because the profile is just data to be referred from a certain App, like when you start to use such Enterprise Outlook.

So, the profile can not be a condition where the state is active or not.

Instead, you may use App Trigger (Outlook etc).

Give it a try. 🤞

I am also interested in this. Tasker, for example, has access to Work Apps somehow (I think? Not 100% sure).
