Deeplink automation

You are probably talking about this right?

Unfortunately, the instructions on how to use deeplinks are completely missing from their documentation. Do you see any specific instructions in the FolderSync app itself? I downloaded the free version but can't see the deeplinks option there.

From the page you linked

Automation

FolderSync works as Tasker plugin and supports deeplinks when triggered from other automation apps. This means one or more folderpair syncs can be initiated or cancelled when a condition or rule you configured in automation app occurs.
If you have Foldersync installed verify that it appears as a Locale/Tasker plug-in

Yes. FolderSync is supported as a tasker/locale plugin, but doesn't offer as much actions. It's possible that deeplinks offer more functionality for OP.

This is cool! I could easily start and stop a sync, more than what MacroDroid currently offers with the plugin.

Quick question: does anyone sync multiple GBs via FolderSync?

I am using Resilio Sync for syncing a large folder currently but MacroDroid isn't able to exit the app or kill the app for me so I'm thinking of switching to FolderSync.

I tried the Tasker plug in but it isn't of much use to me
Thanks for the attention. It's solved as explained below

By GB if you mean Gigabytes, yes it does. But for me the first sync is in GBs, subsequently only incremental backup

ok, I have tens of thousands of files in those ~10GBs, just wondering comparatively how fast + accurate it is at detecting those kind of conflicts. Only a few change at a time but wonder how long it would take to search through all those files again..

I've had no issues so far with file integrity and I too have a few thousands of files that get synced. For me the sync operation across all these folders takes a maximum of 10 minutes

It also offers a very flexible configuration choice, so your best would be to try it out

I am not familiar with file synchronization, but when synchronizing a file of about 2GB, Resilio Sync had the fastest transfer rate indicated, and FolderSync was the slowest.

I think this depends on your personal environment and settings, and I think there are differences due to protocols, but FolderSync can also sync while you are sleeping, so your evaluation will vary depending on how you use it.

In my opinion, Resilio Sync is better if you have to watch the synchronization until it finishes, and FolderSync is better if you want to synchronize with macros.
