Community based voting for feature updates

It would be cool if we can have a tile or menu option in the app to look at the current list of feature requests (which will also help reduce duplicate requests) and just vote on them. I see a lot of companies do this in forums, but since not everyone check the forum, it'll be much easier to just check this and vote in the app.

Unrelated, but the update that came out recently is AMAZING! Action Blocks is amazing and helps me get rid of so many of my dummy macros (which I was using with Macro Run). Loving the new releases these days, keep it up!

Yes it could be interesting but I'm not sure it'll be easy to implement on Dev's side: does this improvement would worth the time spent?

I think that @MacroDroidDev takes into account 2 major criteria: complexity (he is able to evaluate) and usefulness (according to the comments and reactions -'Likes 👍'- for every request in this forum and his own opinion).

We must admit that sometimes users have very specific request to solve one personal problem...

Well, the problem is that not everyone checks the forum regularly, some probably don't even know about the forum.

I think Microsoft Launcher's implementation of feature requests and bug tracking works quite well, you should take a look at it from the app itself. Otherwise, the Vote feature on their UserVoice site is quite good:

And this forum is also pretty good at displaying votes:

I think by having a centralized feature request system, where users can actually vote and see easily what the feature requests are, then this will potentially reduce duplicate requests and also allow the community to voice on what they would all like to see implemented. Of course, it's up to the Dev to decide whether to implement or not, but at least this gives everyone an overview.

I mean, even a voting system implemented in the forum would be great.

You're right and I agree with you but I think that the major difficulty is that @MacroDroidDev is alone and he has to support maintenance and development of this already incredibly powerful app by himself.

But, who knows, maybe reading this will give him some nice idea... 😉

I actually had a similar idea some time ago, but i was thinking people could donate money towards a specific feature request to support the developer for his hard work or to possibly hire someone else to do it for him..

This would also ensure that the most popular features would be added first, but someone would have to check each feature request to see if they are even possible and howmuch it would cost/set a donation goal for them.. And what if a goal is never/not reached, if that means that everyone has to get their money back then it might be more trouble then it's worth..? i don't know.. 🤔

As far as (I think) I know Jamie, I don't believe he would hire someone to develop parts of MD because it's very hard to maintain someone's else job in case of issues or further development. 😀

I think the same thing :p but i honestly have no idea how it all works and what needs to be done to develop an app/feature, maybe there are some basic/universal but time consuming things that he could outsourced? And else it might help motiviate himself (not that he is not already doing a great job right now!) and make some more money for himself, i think he deserves it.

I also remember reading a thread some time ago (might even have been on the old forum) where he was asking how he could earn a living from MD, maybe this could be a way? Anyone that wants to can already donate now, but i think people will be more likely to donate towards something that they want/need rather then donating towards something that they already have.. He might not like this idea at all though :ROFLMAO:, i gues it could also be seen as "forcing" people to pay for new features after already having paid to permanently unlock the app.. Either way i thought it was worth sharing for the small chance that it could actually help him in any way.

Thanks to @chaoscreater for reminding me of this idea and i agree with what he said, any form of voting system for feature requests would be great, and also in-app instead of on-forum where alot of people will probably (and sadly) never see any of it. (y)
