Battery impact of geofencing constraint?

I'm using the 'app launched' trigger to trigger a reminder when I'm at a specific store.
It's set to trigger when I open my grocery list app, with a geofencing constraint.

Will the location check for the geofencing constraint run at the interval it is set to or will it only run when the trigger is triggered?

Also, does the order of the constraints matter?
If it does I guess could optimize the battery usage even more by adding a 'Device not connected to wifi' constraint for example.

It will periodically check to the interval you set, like the trigger.
If you have a geofence set to update for example every 30 seconds you can set the other to 30 seconds too because your location will update every 30 seconds.

Hm, okay not sure if I follow 100% but is there a way to check my location only when the trigger runs?
I'm at this store maybe once every two weeks so checking my location all the time seems wasteful.

I don't think you can - not with geofences I believe. You may be able to come up with something with the 'force location update' action.

Thanks for the suggestions and information everyone! I might be better off using the nearby SSID instead. I see no battery drain warnings about it so I guess it's not as bad as constant location polling!
