Android 15 will break MacroDroid helper

However, it’s still possible to sideload apps built for SDK version 23/Android 6.0 if you’re running Android 15. All you have to do is install and use ADB to send the following command:

adb install --bypass-low-target-sdk-block FILENAME.apk
You’ll still get the Play Protect warning, but tapping “install anyway” will work this time.
Doesn't that mean there won't be any change?

The situation is the effectively the same for MacroDroid. It just means if I did try and create some alternative helper that could install more easily (with reduced functionality) then it would be a losing battle because eventually the moving goalposts every year would make it obsolete.

I'm still on Android 13 and I don't really see the need to update to newer versions. Sure I might miss security patches, but I don't do any banking stuff on my phone and don't do anything dodgy that would potentially get my device compromised. Would rather stay on older Android version purely for MacroDroid. It's just too critical to lose.

Pretty much the only reason I update to latest versions is to get these restrictions, so that I can test them myself and we can work on workarounds and stuff. But honestly every update doesn't bring much... I just updated to HyperOS last week, the only noticeable changes were icons, some text boxes and a font change. That's it???

If I had a choice, I would go back to Android 8...

Haha, I was using Galaxy S7 / Android 8 till February this year. Switched to S24 / An14 for smoother experience. Using ADB hacks I managed to recover 90-95% of my functionalities / apps. Android 8 had already blocked CPU / processes monitor. Every new release they destroy something useful.
