Ambient sound volume as a trigger

Exposing my ignorance but is it possible to use ambient sound level as a spacific value In a trigger? Basically use the sound level at the microphone as a numerical value in a trigger.

very interesting, in addition to triggering the event it would be nice to also trigger a recording and perform other actions.
It would also be nice to trigger an event based on keywords, e.g. if certain keywords are detected in the listening area, recording will start.

Maybe AutoVoice plugin? I use it to get the ambient sound level with a macrodroid action (so it's not always listening) but you can also use "AutoVoice Noise" and a bunch of other things from this plugin as a trigger, i"m not familiar with these triggers so i don't know if/how well they work but it's worth a try..

I can tell after many many experiments that autovoice ambient noise does not work !
a reason might be that it gets permission to access the microphone only when app is in use (not all the time), but the fault still lies with the developer for neglecting to make this option available
it seems the whole app or just the ambient noise party (which is just a small part of the app) is not supported

the only solution I can see is a sound level monitor with notification alert so MD can catch the notification

unfortunately I can't find such an app except for "Sound Detector" by Embarador , which has only 500 downloads, is paid and also claims it can notify other apps (!) but I hesitate to try it for safety reasons (fake app?)

if somebody knows of a sound level/recorder app that can somehow integrate with MD , it would be nice to let us know

I thought i had the autovoice noise trigger working at one point but right now i cannot even add it, when i try to do so macrodroid crashes.. I don't know what is going on, i also cannot add a KWGT change variable action without MD crashing on me.. but other plugins and even other triggers/action from the same plugins i can still add just fine.. very strange!

Anyway, i also tried that sound detector app that you are talking about a while ago, i just downloaded the apk from the internet because i did not want to pay for something without knowing if it would actually work.. I no longer have it installed so it probably was not that great either, but i believe it did work.. If i remember correctly the way it notify's other apps is by sending an intent..
