Advice on macros for Smart Band

Hello,
I got a Mi Band and was thinking about what I could do with it and Macrodroid.

Do you have any advice on useful macros to implement?

Cheers

Hey, thanks for your reply, I searched the forum and read a few threads about my question.

Is the "Notify for Mi Band" app a replacement for Mi Fit or do they work simultaneously?
My band is 10hrs old, I would rather not compromise it with additional software, even if I'm sure that's pretty safe to use.

they work simultaneously

Notify app is tasker plugin app, so without this you can't use mi band with macrodroid
I never used a tasker plugin, is it easy enough to get going and does it require to always be running in the background?

it's the only way and relatively easy and yes needs to run in background (of course, how else would be ready for your commands or ready to trigger your macros)

I thought maybe MD would "call/use" it only when needed :)
I'll give it a go the next days, first I need to check the band out, see how it works with my current setup, how much the battery lasts and so on.

Will hit you up if I need more help; thanks so far!

Developer of Notify for Mi Band/Amazfit implemented most of the actions and triggers via intents. Only the more advanced action that requires a lot of input are implemented via Tasker/Locale Plugin.

App itself runs in background all the time to ensure stable connection to your watches and deliver notifications instantly, but in my case it doesn't take a lot of RAM and doesn't slow my phone down.
Only 28mb on average, which is really small portion.

You can use app simultaneously with Mi Fit. But it can replace official app if you want.

Note that app is shareware and has some limited functions unless you pay for pro. But I think if you use it only for plugins and integration that all of actions and triggers are usable in free version.

Hi.
I wouldn't know how to use intents, so that could be a problem..
I don't have intention on replacing Mi Fit and yeah, read it was shareware but I'd probably use it only like you said.

Thank you too for your inputs :)

Notify for Mi Band unfortunately doesn't provide firmware updates itself. As you can see from a screenshot there are some external sources for firmware updates. Updating from these sources should be okay, but there's no gurantee. My friend tryed updating his Amazfit GTS watches from these, but watches didn't wanted to start after update, but he was able to get them working with official Mi Fit app again. What I want to say is that this app is not that well for doing firmware updates, but it can still manage them and maybe for some people it's working all the time. I personally don't find firmware updates that important. Only thing I have done was, that I have installed custom font and emojis and that worked. Developer recently added (like 3 months ago actually) ability to update A-Gps. I am not sure what A-Gps is but I think new and frequently updated A-Gps is propably needed for more accurate and fast location determination. I think A-Gps updates should work just fine.

So if you really care about firmware updates (which I understand) you can try how much are external sources reliable (which they really can be) or use official Mi Fit app for that. Note that in Notify app you will need to download updates manually (on your action). Also the latest availible version doesn't really needs to be a latest one.

By the way. Did you ever played Botanicula, or is your profile photo just something moreless random?

Oh, I thought a custom firmware was needed for stuff like emoticons and fonts. So, uploading those is totally safe?

Sorry, I just don't know how this stuff works.. To have custom emojis and fonts, don't they have to be "inside" the band? o_O
No. You would need to install a modded firmware with fonts. But this is up to you. I am just saying it's possible. I also don't know how that work. I am just telling what I know. You download a file and install it on your band (IF YOU REALLY WANT IT).
