Both macrodroid and MDHelper have "Wifi special access" permission granted. It sounds as if I may have to fire up adb again. Used it the other day to get gsam battery monitor working properly on the new device. Time to go down the "Macrodroid and ADB" rabbit hole - for which any suggestions...

I have just changed from a galaxy S10e to a Pixel 6 ( Had an old nexus 6p prior to both ), The pixel 6 is a stunning device and I have had no issues with it. Am now trying to get macrodroid to do all of the stuff that I had bixby routines set up to do on the galaxy.

Whilst trying to get this sorted out I have location ( all modalities ) permanently active.

Macrodroid and MD Helper both have permanent location permission as well as having Wifi control special permission. The macro now looks like : I shall test it out again on my way home.

I am running android 12 on a pixel 6. Shall give the "ElseIf" option a try.
