I have the same issue and it has been not solved. Have requested MacroDroid dev to look into it and just receives a mail stating that everything is fine with the app :(

Hello Mike, Is the issue fixed as i still find "run macro on MacroDroid" not working. I'm on A12.1. Thanks.
